At Czech Founders, we are passionate about building a grassroots, founder-led ecosystem that thrives on the dedication of its members.

While we appreciate the support of corporate and VC sponsors, we believe that our independence is crucial to ensuring that the voices of founders remain at the forefront of driving the ecosystem forward. We are also committed to maintaining our complete independence from government influence and being critical of their involvement when we think it is needed.

By contributing to Czech Founders, our Board members can directly shape the future of the ecosystem and help create a more dynamic startup community in Czechia.

To achieve our goal of financial sustainability and remain truly founder-led, we aim to fund cca 40-50% of our budget through founder contributions.

Our current target is to raise 2.5M CZK (€100k) annually from the Czech Founders Board members - scale-up founders, exited entrepreneurs, and operators.

What is the expected donation?

You can choose to opt-in with a recurring annual donation with at least a 3-year commitment or do a one-time donation for the same period.

The min. amount of donation is 50,000 CZK (~€2k)/year/member, but to achieve our goals, we are aiming to reach an avg. of 120,000 CZK (~€5k)/year/member donation amongst the Czech Founders Board members, so we really appreciate if you consider chipping in with more than the minimum.

What if I do not want to make a financial donation?

We value your time and involvement more than anything else. If, for any reason, you decide not to make a financial contribution, we would still be thrilled to have you as a Czech Founders Board member. In that case, we would expect you to commit more time to the organization. Please let us know in the confirmation form if you cannot make a financial donation but would like to contribute with your time and energy, and we will contact you to discuss the details.

What if I want to make a much bigger donation?

If you consider making a much larger donation than the 120,000 CZK (~€5k)/year expected avg. ticket exceeding 350k CZK (~€15k), then you can define on what we spend 50% of the money. Please note that these defined projects would need to fit with the organization's mission and goals and would need to be approved by the Board of Directors. More significant donations can really accelerate the impact we can create.

How do donations work?

Czech Founders is a non-profit organization (”zapsaný ústav”) under Czech Law, and we can receive donations from companies and individuals to cover our operational costs. The records of financial transactions are publicly accessible through a transparent bank account provided by Česká Spořitelna a.s. If you decide to make a donation through your company, you may have some tax benefits. After you fill out the confirmation form, we will prepare a Donation Contract and contact you or your colleague with the next steps.
